Policy for Missed Class

Missing a Class:
Weekly Re-Occurring Clients

We are a small 1-on-1 program so unfortunately, we cannot hold time slots open without payment. If you schedule and accept a class time or times you are responsible for payment of those times.
If you miss a class to ensure your time slot will be available for your immediate return, we must hold that time slot open. Even if you are not there, cost remain to hold that slot open. Once you are a weekly on-going client and have a set time/day we can hold your time slot open for the occasional absence, but payment is still required for that missed class.
Unlike a typical swim school that put lots of student in single class, our cost is higher, because we limit our classes to one student. So, our flexibility is limited. But our 1-on-1 individually tailored program allows us to give each of our client exactly what they need to make them into swimmers.
A single 1-on-1 hour class is $100.
Learning to swim take time in the water and repetition. It is always best if you can commit to a weekly schedule. We well secure a
weekly reoccurring time for you as long as there are no breaks in the schedule.
Due to our small size and the fullness of our schedule we are unable to accommodate most clients temporary scheduling issue, though we wish we could.
We do understand the things happen from time to time beyond your control, so we have a couple options.
If you must miss a class, we can take you off the schedule and try to work you back on when you return to a different day and time.
If you want keep your current time we can hold your timeslot open for your return, unfortunately payment for the missed call would be required.
Most of our client on our waitlist are looking for a set weekly time. We do have a very limited number of drop in clients (we call floaters) that pick up single classes on different days and time from time to time. We can offer your missed class to our floaters be I cannot guarantee it will be picked up. If it is not, you still have the above options.

Current Clients Scheduling Future Sessions:

If you'd like your timeslot to be reoccurring weekly just let use know. How many weeks you'd like to schedule. Additional classes can be added at the same time weekly as long as there are not breaks. Let me know as soon as possible so I can hold your preferred times and days.
Payment for future sessions is not due until the first class of each new session.

When Missing Multiple Classes:

We value our clients and appreciate your busy schedules, but please keep in mind we cannot help you learn to swim if you are not in the water.  If you miss multiple classes from your schedule for vacation or any reason; Unfortunately, we may not be able to hold that specific time slot open for you. Should we need to remove you from the schedule for now, when you are ready to return, we will do my best to work you back into the schedule as soon as possible.
But please forgive any delay, as you may not be the only returning client.

Condensing schedule (limited):
Our schedule our classes back to back, but occasionally we may get last minute cancellation(s) or a holiday schedule, in which case you may be asked to move forward or back to condense the schedule for that day. Cancellations are first attempted to be filled with floaters but if we are unable to do so, you might be asked to adjust. Your teacher is in the water for long periods of time, so your flexibility is greatly appreciated. We understand that this may not always be possible. In such cases, we will work around you the best we can.

Floaters (Drop-in):
Single Classes - Clients:

We call our drop-in clients floaters. To be a floater you must have a flexible schedule and be willing to make a majority of the random opening throughout the week work.  A Floater will generally accept their class times between 1 week to 1 day in advance. If you find you are unable to make a class that you have scheduled, unfortunately payment is still due.
Because swimming takes time in the water and repetitions to learn, most clients are on a weekly schedule. Most of our floater openings are created when a regular weekly client can’t make one of their classes. We also have a couple of days that allow us to flex earlier and open an additional hour that day.  In order to guarantee at least one class a week for each floater, so they can make progress, the floater must be flexible enough to take their hour on multiple days.  Please don’t accept a place on our floater list if you have a ridged schedule and can't make different days and times work during the week.

Floaters - Missing multiple weeks:
If a floater finds that they are no longer flexible enough to make the floater schedule work. Let us know, we will do our best to find you a set time that will work.
